This week marked the start of the 60th Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) summit which this year, is being held in Cape Town, South Africa. LRQA Chief Operating Officer, Paul Graaf and LRQA Vice President Food and Beverage, Vincent Doumeizel are representing LRQA at the conference. LRQA is a member of the Lloyd’s Register group.
The CGF is a global, parity-based industry network, driven by its members, and brings together consumer goods manufacturers and retailers in pursuit of business practices for efficiency and positive change benefiting shoppers, consumers and the world. Forum member companies have combined sales of EUR 2.5 trillion.
“We are delighted to be here at the 60th CGF Summit,” said Paul Graaf, LRQA Chief Operating Officer. “Earlier this week, we announced to the media our adoption of the greenfence technology platform, where we talked about how we expect greenfence to have a disruptive effect on the traditional testing, inspection and certification business models.”
In an age where new technologies and consumer behavior is causing disruption, the theme of the CGF Summit focuses on seizing opportunities in spite of the disruption. “This theme is reflected in the LR-greenfence relationship which clearly demonstrates our commitment to investing for the future, through technology enabled services that deliver more value and greater levels of assurance to the customer - particularly to those organisations with complex, high-risk supply chains such as food supply,” summarised Graaf.
As a global member of the CGF, LRQA has taken another significant step in extending its food services portfolio beyond food safety and is building on the strength of their existing relationship with the CGF’s Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) - the world’s leading food safety organisation - to extend their reach across the food sector as a whole. The GFSI is facilitated by the CGF.
