Lloyd’s Register presents vision for the future of food audits at Dubai International Food Safety Conference (DIFSC)

Vincent Doumeizel, Lloyd’s Register’s Vice President Food and Beverage will speak about the future of food audits and how innovation (blockchains, Next Genome Sequencing, new food production) will enable a better food supply chain. It will focus on the challenges facing the food supply chain including food fraud, emerging pathogens and growing consumer expectations, and how digitalisation can support the supply chain – from individual farmers through to global food brands.

In addition, Mitchell Chait, CEO at greenfence will have a session about platform economies and ecosystems that will change how food is produced and how people will benefit.

As its latest development, LR has chosen to adopt Silicon Valley based Greenfence, the first platform technology serving the testing, inspection and certification (TIC) marketplace. Greenfence offers LR unrivalled potential for connectability, scalability and interoperability of existing databases, schemes and systems, but also for future development and enhancement of assurance services across all industry sectors.

About DIFSC

The theme of this year’s conference is “Predict, Prevent & Protect,” with the aim to address the opportunities and challenges in the emerging technology and data-driven food safety world.

Over the three days of the event, opportunities and ideas are going to be explored to use technology platforms and learn how governments as well as the food industry are using these tools for driving inspections and for decision making in food safety, nutrition and other areas of public health.

While looking at technology and data driven systems as enablers, the conference will bring to the room the latest trends and challenges in the more fundamental aspects of food safety, including  approaches to food inspections and audits, microbiological and chemical risk assessment, and the human behavioural aspects of food safety management.

Key Topics:

Food Safety Management, Data Science, Microbial Risk Assessment, Food Inspection & Auditing, Social Media & Risk Communication, Microbial Risk Assessment, Food Sustainability, Internet of Things (IoT), Packaging Technology, Big Data, HACCP, Food Safety Culture, Food Banks and others.
